Psychosis: A mental health disorder characterized by a loss of touch with reality. It can involve symptoms such as hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there) and delusions (false beliefs that are not based in reality). Psychosis can be a symptom of other mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or severe depression.
